Okay, so, story time, because it's a good'n.

Rhafala (AKA Far) is an undead hunting zealot bird-dragon with resting bitch face syndrome.

Jayden is an emotionless Daemon whose pastimes include being creepy AF and assassinating targets for the Hive.

So, imagine, a series of events involving Jayden going after a target - a target who has caught wind of their ill-gained attention, and has strong-armed Far into guarding them with promises of bloody violence against a daemon. Jayden reaches his target, and Far reaches him, but an amulet the target was wearing gets caught between the snarling, hissing Xigon and coldly determined daemon. This amulet somehow binds the two together, mind and soul.

The explosive outburst Far unleashed upon discovering this has left marks still visible upon the land.

Now, Far takes perverse glee in tormenting her Bond-mate, unable to kill him and be rid of the daemon without killing herself. Every snapped retort to her barbs is a small victory, a small crack she has clawed in the daemon's cold, dark heart. Her end goal is to drive Jayden to curse her very name, and unleash a barrage of thoughts and feelings he has never had use for.

Why?

Because it pisses him off, that's why.
